ppc account manager

Key Purpose of Job

To develop and maintain client relationships by creating and executing profitable online paid marketing campaigns to maximise traffic and revenue opportunities.

Key Accountabilities

• To manage and service a dedicated group of PPC clients (approximately 25)
• To develop and manage client communication and reporting
• Work with and support the internal team, including the Department Head, PPC Executives and Account Managers
• Set, agree and monitor client budget allocations
• Pro-actively manage campaigns to ensure revenue and ROI targets are met
• To handle difficult customers and to manage customer expectations, maintaining a high level of customer service


• Manage and service a dedicated group of PPC clients
• Establishing and maintaining client relationships
• Completion of monthly campaign reports
• Manage customer expectations through excellent customer care and troubleshooting
• Set up and maintenance of customers on AdWords/Bing and other paid marketing platforms
• Monitoring of customer details on the client spreadsheet
• Prioritising workload based on size of the account and urgency

Operational, planning and organisation

• Creating and maintaining campaign action plan with customers
• Daily operational work on campaigns
• Undertake regular performance and campaign analysis
• Obtaining customer contact details, billing information
• Always willing to support/help other work colleagues


• Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual figures, stats and trends for current and future strategies
• Comparing performance across timescales and analysis of current industry seasonal trends

Development and Learning

• Liaising with Bing/Google regarding certain accounts and technical issues
• Making sure always up-to-date with new developments/opportunities
• Updating Google AdWords/Bing/Shopping certifications
• Continually developing new and existing client campaigns
• Always finding new ways to optimise customer campaigns

Experience and Qualifications


• Good understanding of PPC marketing practices
• 2 years minimum experience working in PPC management - agency side
• In-depth understanding of Google AdWords, Google Analytics and Bing Ads
• Experience of managing multiple clients in different vertical sectors
• In-depth understanding of all types of account level performance metrics
• Competent with strategy forecast, building and execution
• Strong client relationship building experience with confident presentation skills
• Highly motivated and able to work independently and part of a team
• Able to work to deadlines, prioritise and manage time across multiple clients
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
• UK resident or work permit holder
• Full clean UK drivers license
• Fluent English speaker


• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• Marketing and/or business qualification
• Strong negotiation and problem solving skills
• Ability to proactively identify business opportunities within client target and strategies

• Google Docs
• Google AdWords Certified
• Advertising Fundamentals
• Advanced search
• Advanced display
• Google AdWords Editor
