GOOGLE CLOUD PLATFORM
Google Cloud Conference
Google Next – Tobacco Dock 2015
Step into ‘utopia’ – the world which is advancing by the day and technology growing making our lives simple and intelligible.
Google is way ahead of what we are thinking and wanting right now and by the looks of things they already have planned what we will be needing in years to come.
When we first walked in10am for registration, there was already an overlay of people shambling around the reception area, from the juice & coffee stand to the breakfast bar, scouting tables and exchanging career details with fellow guests.
There was a good atmosphere, everyone was there for one thing and it wasn’t the free fruit! There was a sense of a mutual appreciation in the air for what Google had to offer, and the eagerness to learn and listen to Carl Schachter & Greg DeMichillie explaining the benefits of Google Cloud Platform and the rapid growth of the developer’s digital industry.
Ok so we are not all tech worthy and some of us maybe new to this, so in a nutshell! Google Cloud Platform is a service, provided by Google giving our generation today a chance to build, develop and manage applications and websites at a speed like never before!
Creating an application can be tricky, you will require both a designer and programmer and these guys are not cheap! The era of time-consuming coding & pricey plugins are way behind us as Google Cloud Platform offers an all in one service under… well, one cloud!
At the Keynote conference there were a few guest appearances of current GCP Clients, looking around the conference arena of the seated surface you could see how impressed the audience was, the brains behind the mobile gaming company ‘Outfit 7’ (the makers of Talking Tom!) explained their journey in the gaming app world from creating a simple app of a cat talking back at you, to enhancing the app to have multiple 100+features and creating 5 more characters, now hosting an online engaging YouTube programme! The 3rd most downloaded game in the world; 2.8 Billion downloads! That’s pretty impressive and not only did they convince the audience how Google Cloud Platform is awesome but the likes of Uber, Khan Academy, SnapChat, AirBnB, Ocado, PWC and JDA were amongst other big names on the list of topics, openly discussing their expansion in the world of mobile business, traffic, commerce and growth as a brand simply by joining forces with Google!
I managed to grab Carl Schachter quickly before the stampede of IT specialists ran over. I introduced myself and our company, he was super friendly and was highly interested in our feedback on the topics discussed, after a few minutes I left him with my business card and went over to the snack bar to grab some free KitKat bars and Hula Hoops!
The Seminar-Workshop area wasn’t as engaging as we had hoped, we were left on our own with HP Google Chrome Laptops in a large quiet almost ‘Librarian’ room. We munched away on snacks and mingled with our peers – exchanging more business cards and getting an insight from their views.
We are really excited for this new Platform and will definitely make use of the 60-day trial voucher.
Build at the speed of Google, all services under one roof, access to virtual machines, big data solutions, object storage and much more!
Whether this is something that would benefit a Digital Marketing Company? We are putting this to the test, however from a Developers perspective… will Google Cloud Platform put developers out of business or help speed up the workflow? You will find out in my next blog!
