what to expect from the new google adwords editor version 11

AdWords Editor Version 11 is the biggest update of what Google considers to be one of its most popular digital marketing tools, since its launch in 2006.

Editor has been used extensively by search marketers because it lets them make bulk edits to AdWords accounts fast and easily. The December 2014 update sought to change both the interface and functionality of the application, making editing bulk AdWords accounts even more convenient.

As of 10th April 2015, support for the old editor layout was cancelled, and only available in Version 11.

Whether you’re just getting started with AdWords Editor, or want to find out how different the new version is from what you have been working with, the following brief list shows some benefits of the update.

New Interface

Compared to the previous one, the new user interface is extremely pleasant to view and use.

The application now features a minimalist, largely grey-scale design split into 5 sections – a toolbar, account tree, editor panel, data view, and type list.

The type list could be the biggest improvement to navigation, with an expandable list to replace the horizontal navigation tabs.

There is an intuitively organised sidebar at the bottom left of your editor screen, giving direct details about how many campaigns, keywords, and ad groups you have.

Pop out windows for multiple accounts

When linking Editor to your account, you have the option to download as many accounts as you have. Once downloaded, you will be able to view the different accounts, as well as different parts of your accounts, ad groups, and campaigns at the same time.

You can also download entire MC Cs, and copy – paste data between accounts.

Undo – Redo up to 20 Successive Changes

The old version of Editor allowed you to review changes before uploading them to your account. With the update, you will also be able to undo and redo up to 20 successive changes. That said, you should know that after the changes have been posted, you won’t be able to revert your account to a previous version.

New Search Function

The search bar in the new Editor is not only more visible, but also comes with some useful tricks to help you perform faster searches through your campaigns. You just have to specify the field or value that you want to search in the search box, and then add as many search parameters as you need. This can save you loads of time.

There are loads of benefits of Editor Version 11 that both new and old users of AdWords Editor would appreciate. Other things you can look forward to trying out include easy access to keyboard shortcuts, access to a shared library, and smarter bulk editing.
